A little Letter to you

Dear people who are bothering to read this,
first of all, thank you for reading this. It means a lot. Especially when someone goes to the effort of thinking, brainstorming, and trying to condense all that nonsense into words, it's nice to know that someone is going to value your efforts. Or at least briefly glance at your shocking attempt of a blog post.
Secondly, I hope you all remember me. It's been a long time since I've even looked at anything to do with blogging. I even hesitated before remembering what my URL is! So that's obviously a bad sign. I had such high hopes for blogging during May, June... since I no longer have college or study to be doing. But instead I became even more busy.
I started working. Like proper working. 9 to 5:30. Monday to Friday. In a real company. REAL! With other REAL people. And let me tell you - it is exhausting!!! I'm just starting my fourth week and I am in need of a major holiday. The work itself isn't that hard. Well it probably is, only I just don't know how to do anything. I am only an intern but like I have no clue about anything. It's all computery, high tech, modern stuff that has me going "umm...what?"
On top of that, I am working far away from home. So that means I had to move out. And it takes ages to get here from home. Therefore I no longer have Friday or Sunday nights. They do not exist. I spend them in a car. Usually overthinking and questioning every move I make. I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing. Somedays I have such a clear view in mind that I can feel like I could take on the world then other days I want to curl up under the duvet because nothing makes sense anymore.
There's been a lot of stuff happening too. Not just in the world of me myself and I. Friends I have went through a tough time and I had to mind my Dad for a while when he had an accident. And everything just felt like a mess.
Now things are sort of back on track. But when is anything ever perfect? Just enjoying the happiness and calmness before the next inevitable hurdle.
So I'm trying to juggle work, family, friends (new and old), blogging, reading and other hobbies I used to love to do. I will try my best. But no guarantees.
And how are you all?!
Happy Blogging!
Love you lots like Jelly Tots :L
Marian  ^_^

  1. I'm sorry to hear everything is going so hectic at the moment. I would love to read about your internship or experience at college if you're short of topics to blog about (I'm actually considering UCC at the moment :D).. Life gets stressful, but at least you have your blog audience to vent to :P

    1. YES! Go to UCC! It is excellent!! ^_^ Heheh. Yeah, I might do a post at the end of the summer all about my year, college and work. I hope it will sound interesting :L
And thank you for listening to my childish rants.
So how was zeee ... LC? ^_^

    2. I'm definitely considering it! I've heard a lot of positive stuff about UCC, saying that no one ever seems to have a bad experience at college.. That would be a really interesting post! How did you find Computer Science? The mere mention of it terrifies me, I just wouldn't be able for such a maths-based course, but I admire people who have the work ethic and creativity to do it :)

The LC was.. well, surprisingly stress-free. The months leading up to it were a real strain, and it was very stressful, but the papers (with the exception of English and Maths) were not as bad has I had expected. Overall, though, I'm just happy to be finished :D

    3. Personally, I love UCC. It's just such a nice place. The buildings, lecturers, ambience! I really really loved Computer Science. With all my heart. I just loved going to college. And now I can't wait to go back. CS is not that bad. There is so little work if you go to lectures and labs an do whatever assignments. I never did any study outside of college time and found it easy. it's not very mathsy. Just logic and problem solving. Which are two of my favourite things so I got on great.

Oh really? That's good! All I remember is eating. ALL the time. I had spaghetti bolognese for breakfast one morning. I just was so so hungry :L It's good to have it all behind you now. I hope you get what you want! ^_^

  2. Wow what a busy time for you. When school finished I also went to a real "adult" job and struggled to do anything "extra" in my life (including blogging). However, it does get easier. I know that's not much of a consolation, but it's true.

Just do what you can do and try not to feel too guilty:) Good luck with getting back into the swing of things!

  3. My only encounter with actual work for the past year or so (one of the many advantages of TY is that you do feck all) is the four work experiences I did. They were all only a week long but even still I was wrecked after them. Hopefully it'll all work out and you're able to get a good balance going!

    1. I was the same a month ago. And work experience is nothing like actual work. Where did you do them? Thank you!

  5. Dear Marian,

I'm really sorry to hear that you've been having a rough time of it. I hope things are getting better with your job and your friends and your dad. Life can be amazingly difficult sometimes; it's also amazing how we manage to pull through.

I feel a Dumbledore quotation would be appropriate at this point: "Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light."

Sorry if that's a bit OTT for your situation. I don't know if this is the darkest of times at all for you. But it's a good thing to remember.

Congratulations on your job! What's the company like/what do they sell/do? I too have a job now (my first one) - I am a receptionist at a GP surgery. You're right: work is exhausting. So many real people. Ugh. I'd rather be reading! But I am actually really enjoying it.

    Love from,

    Emily

    1. Dear Emily,

Thank you very much for your kind comment. Things are much better now. Life goes on. Time is a wondrous thing.

That is my all time favourite quote!! ^_^ Thanks. Such an excellent message.

They were dark but not quite ebony dark :) it all seams worse in the moment though. I've been through worse. But that's life isn't it. It's not a walk in the park. But you just have to have your little cry fest and then get over it.

Thank you!! Well I work for Intel.... do people know what that it? Like I work in a research place. But it's all technology, computers, software etc.
Well done Ems! :D How is that going for you? I don't think I could stand being a receptionist.... dealing with people all the time ... blugh... Reading - YES PLEASE! I have no time for that anymore. :(

And how is life in the world of Emily?

      Love always,

      Marian ^_^
