Blog Post comes with Free Cake

*** OYSTERS, CLAMS AND COCKLES ***

Or if none of those tickles your taste buds I also bring Cake!

I realise that it has been quite a while since I've posted on my blog. 2 months, 3 days, 3 hours, 48 minutes and 12 seconds. And that's 2 months, 2 days, 5 hours too long. I hope the cake makes up for it though! It's like I've almost forgotten how to blog. After taking long breaks it can be quite difficult to get back into the swing of things. I mean for something that was once so natural, as easy as breathing (...well unless you have asthma :L ) I'm finding it kinda challenging in an awkward "where to begin?" sort of way. What's the best way to break the ice? A "big welcome back, did ya miss me" post or a "pretend like nothing has changed, book review/cake recipe" post?

So as a combination of both - HELLO PEOPLE! How have you been? Whatcha been up to?
Well here's what I've been doing:

I went to London during my Easter break and spent 4 days adventuring the glorious city. Best of all I got to visit Warner Brother’s Studios! AKA Harry Potter Studios! ^_^ it.is.positively.utterly.absolutely.MAGICAL! Seeing all the props up close was like entering a dream. I’ve seen them a hundred times on screen but when they're right in front of you, it just makes it all real.

I haven't had a lot of spare time for such luxuries but I have been reading the Gone series. While there are times the story is fantastic and I can't put it down, there are a lot more times that the book drags on and I find it hard to stay interested. But my TBR pile continues to grow as I've added the beautiful cover of Penguin Threads Emma by Jane Austin and a new novel called "Asking For it" by Irish Author Louise O'Neill. ~book excitement!!~

Falling by Haim is my latest favourite song. Thanks to the Paper Towns movie which is excellent in every possible way. Also "I want the Sky" by Lucy Schwartz is another favourite!

The main two things I've baked have been my Valentine's Red Velvet cake which was sum-didly-umptious and with the new Wonderland movie coming out soon *SQUEEK* I made a wonderland cake.

Second semester at college was tough. And was the main reason for not being able to blog. I finished my exams just last Friday and need a couple of decades to recover from this exhaustion. For anyone who doesn't know, I study Computer Science. It is definitely a great industry to be in and it's "the future" as a lot of people tell me. But is it what I want to do for the REST of my LIFE?

I. don't. know.

With all this Game of Thrones hype(both positive and negative) I had to find out for myself. I managed to watch the first 5 seasons in 2 months. It's addictive and utterly brilliant. And yes there is horrifying violence, a lot of nudity and rape scenes are way too common that I do fear it will have negative impacts perhaps.
And I've been repeatedly watching About Time and Penelope. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
That is all.

After finishing this post I realise how much I've missed blogging. It's good to type and think as one. And I can't wait to read all the lovely blogs out there. I say I have missed a bit. I hoped you liked your cake!

Always,
M xxx

  1. PENELOPE! I should probably start my comment with "hi Marian, I missed you!", but you know me, any mention of James Macavoy and I CAN'T STOP MYSELF--

    *ahem*

Hi Marian, I missed you! (That's better.) So nice to hear from you again :) I hope your exams all went OK and you're not having a degree choice panic. IT'LL BE OK, because when you graduate with a degree in Computer Science everywhere ever will be like YES WE'LL HIRE YOU so you won't actually have to work in the computer industry. The world will be your oyster. (Or your clam/cockle.)

I LOVE LONDON, I'm glad you had a good time! Also, the threads edition of Emma IS THE BEST! I love that book so much and that cover is so gorgeous <333

Glad to see you back, lovely, don't stress about blogging but goooo with the flooow, and if you're worried your readers have forgotten you, DON'T, at least, I'll be here, anyway! (You won't be able to get rid of me.)

Also that cake ... ! Need to go eat cake now. I think there's some downstairs. Would love to see proper pics of your Wonderland/red velvet one.

Also I read We Were Liars! O.o

It's so BEAUTIFUL! I gaze longingly at Emma's Cover regularly. All books should have thread versions methinks.

      NOOOOOOO. WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!

Oh good *sighs in relief* I was afraid I'd have to hit you over the head, wipe your memory, send you north of the wall and banish you from booktopia forever!
      But it's all good now ^_^ x

    4. DON'T SEND ME NORTH OF THE WALL! Oh my gosh but to hear you make that reference makes me so happy <333 The things I do for love ...

I almost watched Penelope last night but I chose What A Girl Wants instead, have you seen that film?

    5. XD I'm glad <3 I wouldn't dare send you north of the wall, and lose one of my favourite blogs?! Nu uh!

How could you choose anything over Penelope?! Oooh I have seen that film! I'm totally in love with sappy teen romance movies at the moment. It's my guilty pleasure. And Amanda Bynes tops that list! ^_^

    6. Looove Amanda Bynes, SHE'S THE MAN IS MY FAVE. OK but after your convincing arguments I watched Penelope last night, oh my goooshhhhh I'M DEAD. I had tears in my eyes when she changed, not kidding!

    7. Yes, she is fantastic and that movie is hilarious. Especially with Channing Tatum <3
FINALLY!!! You just HAVE to watch it. At least once a week. It's just SOOO <3 <3 <3 And that part where she changes is so emotional! And the ending! Oh and where she runs away. UHHH I wanna live in that movie. <3

  2. I DO LIKE CAKE SO I LIKE THIS POST IMMENSELY!! And welcome back to blogging. ;D Also 'scuse me while I just drool over your red velvet cake. AHHHH.

I'm glad you're reading Gone! That series is TOTALLY underrated in the blogging world. <3 I think it's totally creepy but...addictive?!? I NEEDED ANSWERS. And the finale destroyed me in the best possible way. :')

Oh oh and I'm avoiding Game of Thrones. *hides* I LOVE THE BOOKS!! And the show has already deviated a lot and I'm kind of wishing I could read Winds of Winter first??? Which is SILLY because it'll be like another ten hundred years before we get to read it. :P BUT YEAH. So far I've been spoiled because the internet is baaaaad at keeping secrets. :P

Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!

    1. XD Thank you. And who doesn't like cake?!

YES! It is addictive because theres just so many questions! But it's so long too. I'm just starting Lies, the third book.

Now that GoT books and movies seem to be going their separate ways I'm also gonna have to read the books. And the internet is AWFUL at keeping secrets! Season 6 and Jon Snow have been totally ruined for me although I did have my suspicions.

      Thank you Cait! ^_^ x
